rAge is South Africa’s biggest annual video gaming, computer, technology and geek culture exhibition.
Over the course of the weekend tens of thousands of enthusiastic fans descend on the venue for three days of gaming, technology, gadgets, and geek lifestyle entertainment.
You can buy new games and consoles, chat with local comic book artists, or take selfies with your favourite cosplayers. The show is a glimpse into the future and it has always been about trying out new things and getting some hands-on time before you make your purchasing decisions. Many call it the event of the year, where you can escape your reality for a single day or even the whole weekend. Sound like fun? rAge will sledgehammer your heart and ignite your imagination!
rAge provides a platform to touch and feel, try and experiment. It is the place to go each year to see all the latest goodies presented in an accessible way and be surrounded by people who all share the same passion.

rAge is South Africa’s award-winning video gaming, technology and geek culture exhibition. Now in its 16th year, rAge 2018 will be held at the TicketPro Dome in Northgate, Johannesburg from 5-7 October 2018.
The NAG LAN is South Africa’s largest BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer/Console) LAN, where gamers spend 52-hours playing games with and against each other on the same network. The NAG LAN is an event that is held at rAge every year, and a separate ticket will need to be purchased (i.e. a rAge Expo ticket will not give you access into the NAG LAN).
Tickets for rAge are available online via Computicket as well as at all Computicket outlets. You will also be able to buy tickets at the door. NAG LAN tickets will go on sale via Computicket at 09h00 on Saturday 28 July 2018.
rAge JHB takes place at the Ticketpro Dome in Northgate from the 5th – 7th October 2018.
rAge JHB: Friday 10h00-18:00 | Saturday 09h00-18h00 | Sunday 09h00-16h00.
NAG LAN JHB opens at 09h00 on Friday and closes at 15h00 on Sunday.
Children under 6 are allowed free entry into the expo.
A weekend pass ticket gives you (1 person) access to the expo for all three days at a discounted price. Weekend Pass tickets can be purchased from Computicket or at the door.
Computicket will only offer refunds on NAG LAN tickets in accordance with their standard terms and conditions: If the cancellation occurs more than 30 days prior to the event a 15% cancellation fee will apply; If the cancellation occurs less than 30 but more than 7 days prior to the event a 50% cancellation fee will apply; If the cancellation occurs less than 7 days prior to the event a 100% cancellation fee will apply.
Tickets for the NAG LAN are transferable so you’re welcome to give your ticket to a friend.
If you have already purchased an expo ticket for a specific day and are only able to attend on an alternate day we will accept your ticket at the door.
Please note that reselling of any tickets is strictly prohibited by Computicket.
rAge is a family show so visitors of all ages are welcome to attend. Please do note that some gaming content on display at the various stands may be age restricted and not suitable for minors.
There is no age restriction for the NAG LAN but we do suggest that young minors to be accompanied/supervised by an adult.
Parents are welcome to assist their children to settle in at the LAN and will be issued a Parent Pass wristband upon arrival.
The venue charges an additional fee for parking in some areas. This cost is not included in your rAge Expo ticket price.
Everybody is welcome to take pictures or video at the expo, but do note that some exhibitors may not allow photography or filming of their games on display and you may be asked to refrain from taking photos or filming.
Should you wish to attend the expo as accredited media, please do so by registering via the Press Accreditation link.
The rAge Cosplay contest information and rules will be posted here for the JHB event, so we would suggest joining this community Facebook page so you know how to get involved.
You are more than welcome to come dressed up as your favourite character, but please do keep the following things in mind before selecting your outfit:
(1) rAge is a family show so we dont allow cosplay that is revealing, explicit or overtly sexual in any way. If we do find your outfit to be offensive we will have you escorted off the premises;
(2) Please be mindful of your weapons and props – we dont allow knives, swords or guns of any kind. Any items found to be of a dangerous nature or have the potential to injure someone will be confiscated by security and only be returned to you when you leave.
No but you can make use of Uber or other local taxi services.
We do offer a group discount if you are a teacher arranging a class trip on Friday (5 October) on behalf of a school, college or university. Please email us for more information on how to book.
