What is the NAG LAN?

rAge will again feature the sleep-depriving three day NAG LAN @ rAge event. This is a wired melting pot of earth shattering and adrenalin-filled gaming in the form of a 53-hour BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer) NAG LAN. The NAG LAN @ rAge is the biggest gaming LAN in South Africa, with a minimum of 2,000 gamers connected to the same network for a weekend of pure gaming. The entire event translates into a gaming fanatic’s ultimate experience. Tickets for the NAG LAN go on sale at Computicket on 1 August 2010 and are expected to be sold out within weeks.

Important stuff

  • Bookings open for the NAG LAN at Computicket 1 August 2010. Go early. The last NAG LAN sold out within 1 week so make sure you get yours early
  • The venue is the Coca-Cola Dome at Northgate
  • The LAN opens at 10h00 on Friday [1 October 2010] and closes 15h00 on Sunday [3 October 2010]
  • Tickets cost R300 per person for an entire weekend of gaming - this includes free access to the expo
  • Seating arrangements are on a first come first served basis, thus you will not be able to reserve specific seating at Computicket
  • VC will be running the NAG LAN. This means your LAN will always be powered, always be connected and always be fun. They are the masters at running events like this

Some rules

  • What to bring - your PC, monitor, keyboard, mouse, headphones, power cord to PC & monitor
  • You must have a valid Computicket ticket to enter and you must ask for the NAG LAN ticket at Computicket and then check that your ticket states NAG LAN. Tickets for the NAG LAN will not be available at the door
  • Computers must enter or leave between 10h00 and 22h00 on Friday and 08h00 and 22h00 on Saturday. This is a security issue and will not be changed for any reason. We want to keep your equipment safe so you have to play the game by our rules
  • Secure public parking is available for anyone holding a NAG LAN ticket
  • You may not plug in phone chargers or any other power requiring device. This causes technical issues. We only have so much power to go around for each individual gamer and pushing the limits trips the switches
  • No port scanning, hacking or cheating allowed. Try anything like this and you'll be escorted out of the event and banned from ever attending again
  • No food or alcohol is allowed to be brought into the Coca-Cola Dome [their rules].
  • No speakers, multi-plugs, double adaptors, switches or hubs allowed
  • No tents allowed [no jokes - some people think this is a camping site]
  • Right of admission is always reserved
  • If you have any further questions, or you would like to ask one, go the NAG LAN @ rAge Forum
