The seventh rendition of rAge 2009 has bucked the economic downturn and grown its attendance figures compared with 2008 against a global backdrop of consumer shows suffering significant drop-offs in attendance figures of around 30%. The powerhouse gaming and technology expo showcased the biggest names in the industry and provided exhibitors with a prime sales and marketing platform.

21 September 2009 - Guitar Hero: World Tour National SA Championships @ rAge
Samsung will be hosting the World Cyber Games Guitar Hero: World Tour National SA Championships on Saturday, 3 October 2009 at rAge 2009. Players will do a 1 vs 1 battle in Guitar Hero: World Tour on Xbox 360 for a chance to compete against the winners from 72 other countries in the 6th annual World Cyber Games Grand Finals taking place in Chengdu, China from 11-15 November 2009. The SA winner from rAge 2009 will be flown to China to compete in the WCG Grand Finals.
14 September 2009 - Computer Gaming and Your Family
Michael James, director and organiser of the upcoming rAge 2009 technology expo taking place from 2 – 4 October 2009 at the Coca-Cola Dome in Northgate, believes there are far more benefits than there are disadvantages to gaming, and that managing your child’s exposure to violent content is no different to managing what they are exposed to on TV and the Internet. “Age restrictions are there for a reason – whether it’s on a movie, book or computer game, they need to be adhered to and parents need to supervise and guide their children irrespective of the medium,” says Michael.
20 August 2009 - rAge 2009 Expo Tickets Available at the Door
Tickets to the seventh rendition of the rAge 2009 Expo will be available at the doors of the Coca-Cola Dome in Northgate at a price of R50 per person, R80 for the weekend or R160 for a family of two adults and two children per day. If you’re still planning to get yourself a ticket to the NAG LAN @ rAge, forget it!
